Create a Successful Business from the Start

Are you ready to step out into the world and make a difference in people's lives, but wonder how to create a successful practice? It starts with planning, then action.

Through hands-on activities and group discussion, you will find your guidance tools, your decision making criteria and have opportunities to get feedback from peers on everyday decisions. Together, we will create your vision and mission statements, then learn how to use those tools to make effective decisions about marketing, advertising and pricing. We will explore different avenues of marketing that are simple, effective and fun, and cost little money.

You will leave with a set of tools and specific actions you can take that will guide you in starting your business.

Building Your Business by Creating Relationships

Are you ready to embrace the power of connection? Small business are built on personal relationships, especially in a service field.

Remove misconceptions about networking as a marketing tool, and find ways to incorporate it into your business practice. You will develop networking skills and discover new opportunities. Discover how a variety of social media tools can be integrated into a simple process.

Even if you are not a "social" person or "techie", this class will offer you opportunities to think creatively about your business, and how you can connect with others that will happily support your business. This is a fun, interactive class that gives you real tools you can use right away.

• Understand 5 major purposes of networking.
• Develop skills for use in a variety of networking situations.
• Create an action plan for using social media.

Michelle Burns, BSN, BSAlt.Med, has been self-employed for over 20 years.  Through her own experiences and the support of many business mentors, she has been able to comfortably create a service business that thrives, even during economically challenging times.  She has explored numerous tools in an effort to find the most efficient and successful ways to manage his business.  Michelle loves to share the knowledge and experience she has gained with others desiring to create a successful service oriented business.  She has been on the leading edge of many tools, including the internet and social media.  She offers classes in business for healing practictioners, introduction to social media tools, marketing basics and how to network effectively. Her classes are interactive and fun and geared to all levels of proficiency and desire.

Sherry Scott, MLA - A lifelong commitment to learning has led Sherry to find new ways to help others share their knowledge through her organization Resource Connection. She produces events and workshops on a wide range of topics for professional & personal growth. Providing innovative ways for people to internalize challenging topics is her goal.

Sherry also assists her clients as a Productivity Ally. Her extensive background in Project Management along with her technical and creative skills give her many tools through which she helps people achieve clarity, easily meet deadlines and gather the appropriate tools to streamline their efforts. Sherry is a great listener and has the tools to help her clients define priorities so that their work time is efficient and effective.
